Ruler foot, works with P1600, 1650

The ruler foot has a taller profile which provides more stability when working with rulers.  The foot also has a cutout allowing great visablity of the needle while sewing.

WHEN YOU DECIDE ON THE CORRECT FOOT FOR YOUR MACHINE
We will help guide you to the templates you will find so useful and creative to begin your ruler work journey
  • * LOW SHANK FOOT use 3mm rules
  • *MEDIUM SHANWK FOOT use 3mm rulers
  • *HIGH SHANK FOOT use 4.5mm rulers
  • *SPECIAL HIGH SHANK FOOT use 4.5 rulers
  • *SLANT FOOT FOR SINGER MACHINE use 3mm rulers

The base of the foot rests against the edge of the ruler.
Rule #1
for ruler work is to never raise the foot while the needle is down or lower the needle while the foot is up.

Special Note:
Low shank machines have less clearance behind the foot and under the presser foot bar - Low Shank Rulers are 3mm and the thinnest rulers to work with the Low Shank Foot (LS) and Medium Shank Foot (MS)

Husqvarna Viking Sewing Machines
Most are Low Shank Machines

The information listed below seems to be a great fix for the issues often experienced when template quilting on Husqvarna Viking sewing machines.
Designer Diamonds, Rubys, Sapphires,Opal,Epic etc.
1. Do not choose FREE MOTION setting.
2. Go into settings menu and uncheck AUTO FEED DOG DROP - this will open another Menu where you can CHECK to lower the feed dogs.
3. Then uncheck SENSOR SYSTEM.
4. Use the STRAIGHT STITCH (make sure to center your needle in the RULER FOOT) and you should be good.
(I have not had any issues with the Designer EPIC;
however, if you experience problems, please try the above changes.

TO ATTACH THE RULER FOOT

  1. If another presser foot is on the mount, use the 2.5mm hex wrench to loosen the mounting screw far enough that you can slide the foot off of the mount.
  2. Slide the Ruler Foot onto the mount. The opening on the side of the foot lines up with the mount’s screw hole. Push the Ruler Foot up as far as it will go.
  3. Ensure the foot is centered over the hole in the needle plate and that the needle is centered in the foot. Then fully tighten the screw with the 2.5mm hex wrench.
